COVID-19 Return to Hockey :: HA Development Sessions
With the release of our Rebound Plan in late June, we understand that a lot of our association's hockey families are eager to learn when – and how – they can get back on the ice.

In order to meet these needs, Hockey Nova Scotia will be piloting HA Development Sessions from now until September 7. As trusted partners in the game, we know that our hockey associations (HA) will ensure that they run quality, player-first development programs that align with the Rebound Plan.

At this point in the summer, we recognize that only certain facilities have opened across the province. In order to address these regional differences when it comes to facility availability, players who do not have programming in their home hockey association will be permitted to attend a session in another hockey association. However, if a player’s home association is offering a program, the player must register with their home association. Players who are registering in their home hockey association should not be displaced by players from outside the association.

Due to insurance coverage, only players who were registered in the Hockey Canada Registry (HCR) for the 2019-20 season are permitted to register and take part in these sessions.

For a HA Development Sanction Request Form, please click here. This form must be completed by your HA and sent to your local Regional Director for approval.

Your association’s HA Development Sessions must be promoted on your association’s website. This information must include a link to the Rebound Plan.

Following the completion of the program, HAs are to submit a report to their local Regional Director.

If you have any questions on any of this, please contact Mike Field (mfield@hockeynovascotia.ca) or your local Regional Director.
