Provincials

Peewee AA: March 24‐26, 2017 (Host: Pictou)

Qualification for Peewee AA Provincials: The host and the top two teams will advance to provincials. The remaining teams will play a best two out of three series to determine the final provincial tournament berths (Four vs Seven and Five vs Six).


Bantam AA: March
 24‐26, 2017 (Host: Metro East)

Qualifications for Bantam AA Provincials:
The host and top three teams will advance to provincials. The remaining teams will play a best two out of three series to determine the final provincial tournament berth (Five vs Six).


Midget AA: April 7
‐9, 2017 (Host: Pictou)

Qualifications for Midget AA Provincials: The host and the winner of each division will advance to provincials. The five remaining teams will play a round robin format (four games each) against each other to determine the final two provincial tournament berths.




RBC Hockey Nova Scotia Day of Champions

Our Day of Champions weekend is planned for the weekend of April 7-9, 2017 at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre in Bridgewater.

2016-17 Playoff Formats

Provincial AA Divisions

Atom AA
The League Champion will be the team that finishes first overall in the regular season, February 12, 2017.

Qualification for Day of Champions:
At the end of the regular season teams will play a double round robin to qualify for the Day of Champions. Top 2 teams after the round robin will attend The Day of Champions April 9, 2017. The round robin has to be completed by March 26, 2017.

Peewee AA
The League champion will be the team that finishes first overall in the regular season, February 19, 2017.
 
Qualification for Provincials:
Teams will be seeded 1 through 7 based on regular season standings. The host and top two seeded teams will automatically advance to provincials, held March 24, 25, 26, 2017. The remaining teams will be seeded 1 through 4 (based on regular season standings) and play best 2 of 3 series with the winners of each series advancing to provincials (seed 1 v 4 and seed 2 v 3). These series need to be played by March 10, 2017.
 
Bantam AA
The League champion will be the team that finishes first overall in the regular season, February 19, 2017.
 
Qualification for Provincials:
Teams will be seeded 1 through 6 based on regular season standings. The host and top three seeded teams will automatically advance to provincials, held March 24, 25, 26, 2017.  The remaining two teams will play a best 2 of 3 series with the winner advancing to provincials. The best 2 of 3 series has to be played by March 10, 2017.
 
Midget AA
The top team in each division at the end of the regular season, February 19, 2017, will play a one game final for the League Championship. This game must be played prior to the provincial tournament.

Qualification for Provincials:
The host and each division winner automatically advance to Provincials, April 7, 8, 9, 2017. The remaining five teams will play a single round robin with the top two teams qualifying for provincials. The round robin must be completed by March 26, 2017.
 
Note: Provincial qualifying games for the AA division will not be scheduled by the League during March Break (March 11-19). However if both teams agree to play, and both teams confirm with League, game(s) will be placed on the schedule.

South Conference A Divisions

Atom A
Teams will be tiered at the end of the regular season, February 19, 2017. Top 4 teams will be placed in Tier 1, remaining teams will placed in Tier 2. Each tier will play a single playoff round robin. The top 2 teams after the round robin in Tier 1 will play a one game final for the South Conference Tier 1 Championship and the winner advances to the Hockey Nova Scotia Day of Champions, April 9, 2017.  The Tier 1 championship game must be played by March 26, 2017.
 
The top two teams in Tier 2 after the round robin will play a Championship Game to determine the SCFHL tier 2 Champion. Date for the Tier 2 championship game to be determined.

Peewee A
Teams will be tiered at the end of the regular season, February 5, 2017. Top 4 teams will be placed in Tier 1, remaining teams will placed in Tier 2. Each tier will play a double playoff round robin. The top 2 teams after the round robin in Tier 1 will play a one game final for the South Conference Tier 1 Championship and the winner advances to the Hockey Nova Scotia Day of Champions, April 9, 2017.  The Tier 1 championship game must be played by March 26, 2017.
 
The top two teams in Tier 2 after the round robin will play a Championship Game to determine the SCFHL tier 2 Champion. Date for the Tier 2 championship game to be determined.

Bantam A
At the conclusion of the regular season, February 5, 2017, the teams will play a single round robin playoff. The top 2 teams after the round robin will play a one game final for the South Conference Tier 1 Championship with the winner advancing to the Hockey Nova Scotia Day of Champions, April 9, 2017. The South Conference championship game must be played by March 26, 2017.

Midget A
At the conclusion of the regular season, February 12, 2017, the teams will play a single round robin playoff. The top 2 teams after the round robin will play a one game final for the South Conference Championship with the winner advancing to the Hockey Nova Scotia Day of Champions, April 9, 2017.  The South Conference championship game must be played by March 26, 2017. 

Pictou will be playing a team from Cape Breton to see who represents the North Conference at the Day of Champions. However, since they were permitted to enter the League they will be allowed to play for the League Championship. If they win the League Championship their opponent in that game will represent the South Conference at the Day of Champions.
 
Note: Playoff/Championship games for the A division will not be scheduled by the League during March Break (March 11-19). However if both teams agree to play, and both teams confirm with League, game(s) will be placed on the schedule.
