Hockey Nova Scotia (HNS) is the member branch of Hockey Canada. We are a not-for-profit provincial sport organization and the governing body of amateur hockey. We represent 20,000 players, coaches, officials, and volunteers. We believe that every Nova Scotian who wants to hit the ice and experience our game should have the opportunity to do so in a safe, fun and supportive environment.


Hockey Nova Scotia is currently looking for a member to join our Board of Directors in the role of Referee-in Chief. The qualified candidate is an individual who is passionate about the game and the role it can play in developing individuals and building healthy communities.
The successful applicant with have the following to offer:
  • A strong background in, and a proven track record of, excellence in officiating both on and off the ice. 
  • A proven record of being a strong communicator with above average skills in administration, organization and leadership.
  • A good working knowledge of all levels of officiating with a plan to focus on growth and development at the grassroots level.
