Hockey Nova Scotia is pleased to announce that Cole Harbour's Colin Miller is the recipient of our 2020 Hal Lewis Award.

Named in honour of former Hockey Nova Scotia volunteer Hal Lewis, the award recognizes the province's official of the year.

A dedicated and hard-working official, Colin has donned the stripes for the past 24 hockey seasons.

For more than a decade, he has worked as a Jr. A referee with the Maritime Hockey League. Over the years, he has also refereed at the Atlantic University Sport-level and has received top officiating assignments at events like the Don Johnson Cup, Major U18 Atlantic championships, as well as the 2016 World Sledge Hockey Challenge.

Outside of his on-ice roles, Colin has served as a clinic instructor and also as the officiating liaison for the Nova Scotia Regional Junior Hockey League. A giving official and a valuable asset to the provincial officiating program, he has been very active in supervising young referees and supporting their development on and off the ice.

On behalf of everyone at Hockey Nova Scotia, we would like to congratulate Colin Miller on receiving our 2020 Hal Lewis Award.
