CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE FROM HOCKEY NOVA SCOTIA
Mar. 11, 2020

The following update from Hockey Nova Scotia can also be found here.

TO:
All Hockey Nova Scotia members

FROM:
Amy Walsh, Executive Director, Hockey Nova Scotia

DATE: March 11, 2020

SUBJECT: Hockey Nova Scotia update on coronavirus (COVID-19)

Hockey Nova Scotia continues to monitor the on-going coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and
the advice of medical experts across the country and here in our province.

At this time, we are following the recommendations of the Public Health Agency of Canada, Dr. Robert Strang (Chief Medical Officer of Health), and the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness.

To maintain a healthy hockey environment, we recommend that all of our members follow the preventive steps outlined in Hockey Canada’s Coronavirus  Important Reminders bulletin dated March 4, 2020.

Currently, the province of Nova Scotia does not require travellers to self-isolate upon returning home from international destinations. However, it is recommended that those who have recently travelled should closely monitor their health for 14 days after returning home. Those who travelled recently and begin to feel unwell are advised to self-isolate (meaning they should stay home, away from the public).

We are continuing to work with Hockey Canada on this on-going situation. We are also monitoring the advisories and advice from public health experts in Nova Scotia and across Canada.

We will continue to take the necessary steps to protect our membership. We will provide further updates to our members in the coming days.
