NEW NSMBHL FRANCHISE AWARDED IN HALIFAX REGION

DARTMOUTH – Hockey Nova Scotia announced today that a Nova Scotia Major Bantam Hockey League (NSMBHL) franchise has been awarded in the Halifax region.
After a thorough selection process, an entry from an operating group consisting of Steve Bent, Ian Sullivan, Chris Donnelly, Paul MacEachern, and Kelly Bent was selected as the winning bid for the Halifax region.
Hockey Nova Scotia began soliciting bids in January.
The new franchise will be branded as the Halifax Wolverines and the team will begin operations during the upcoming 2020-21 NSMBHL season.
The new team operators bring decades of playing and coaching experience at every level of hockey from Novice to the Atlantic University Sport and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League ranks.
“The new franchise operators are an impressive group of individuals with a vast knowledge of the game and a commitment to the development and success of our Major Bantam players and coaches," Hockey Nova Scotia Elite Hockey chair Steve Coates said.
“We look forward to working with them to help their team grow both on and off the ice."
The NSMBHL is made up of 12 teams from across the province and is the top Bantam league in Nova Scotia.
Hockey Nova Scotia would like to congratulate Steve Bent, Ian Sullivan, Chris Donnelly, Paul MacEachern, and Kelly Bent on their winning bid and wish the Halifax Wolverines the best of luck next season.
