NOVA SCOTIA TEAMS BRING HOME PLENTY OF HARDWARE FROM ATLANTIC CHALLENGE CUP
Oct. 9, 2018

MONCTON, N.B. — Hockey Nova Scotia’s young representatives at the 2018 Atlantic Challenge Cup have returned to the province with plenty of hardware.

On Monday, Nova Scotia’s under-18 female team and under-15 male team captured gold in the championship finals of their respective divisions while our under-16 female squad brought home silver and our under-14 boys won bronze.

In female under-18 action, Nova Scotia’s Ellen Laurence potted a pair of a goals and Jenna Leighton tallied a single marker and two assists in a 7-3 win over Newfoundland and Labrador to claim gold.

On the male under-15 side, our boys, who defeated Prince Edward Island 3-2 in the semis to advance to the final, topped New Brunswick 8-3 in the division’s championship game.

Our female under-16 team, who posted a 3-1 record through their first four games, ran into a hot goalie in the final as they fell 1-0 to New Brunswick.

Luke McPhee scored a hat trick and Jack Plandowski and Parker Asbridge each chipped in a pair of helpers as our under-14 male team defeated Newfoundland and Labrador 4-2 in the bronze medal final.

Hockey Nova Scotia would like to congratulate all four of our teams on their great performances at the Atlantic Challenge Cup in Moncton.
