HOCKEY NOVA SCOTIA INTRODUCES NEW BERNIE LAWLOR MEMORIAL COACH OF THE MONTH AWARD

Is a special hockey coach making a difference in the lives of a young hockey player in your life?

We want to hear from you.

During the upcoming hockey season, Hockey Nova Scotia will be recognizing minor hockey coaches with the new Bernie Lawlor Memorial Coach of the Month Award. The award will be handed out each month to an exceptional teacher of the game who has helped to make our sport better.

The award is named in memory of Bernie Lawlor, a long-time Hockey Nova Scotia Minor Council regional director for the Halifax zone.

"Bernie always did his part to give back to the game he loved,” said Brad MacKinley, Hockey Nova Scotia Minor Council chair. "We believe this award is a fitting tribute to Bernie as it will help honour those who dedicate themselves to our sport the way that he did."

Hockey Nova Scotia invites you to nominate a coach in your area for the new Bernie Lawlor Memorial Coach of the Month Award by completing an application.

Applications should be submitted to Mike Field (mfield@hockeynovascotia.ca) in the Hockey Nova Scotia office by noon on the final Friday of each month.

Winners will be recognized by Hockey Nova Scotia and will receive a plaque and puck bag courtesy of the branch.

We encourage you to nominate a coach that is making a difference and to help spread the word about the Bernie Lawlor Memorial Coach of the Month Award.
