DARTMOUTH — Hockey Nova Scotia's Executive Director is leaving the provincial branch to join Hockey Canada.
Darren Cossar, the longtime executive director of the provincial governing body, will be joining Hockey Canada in Calgary as Vice-President, Member Engagement.
Cossar has held the position of executive director with Hockey Nova Scotia for the past 14 years. During this time, the Hockey Nova Scotia office has grown from three staff members to seven. Through his work with the Hockey Nova Scotia Board on progressive initiatives to promote inclusion and grow the game, Darren has helped make the provincial branch a national leader in hockey governance.

“Since joining the branch in 2004, Darren has worked tirelessly to help grow our game and improve its administration here in Nova Scotia,” said Hockey Nova Scotia President Garth Isenor. “As president, it has been a pleasure to work alongside Darren and I am certain our friends at Hockey Canada will benefit greatly from having him join their team."
Before joining the provincial branch, Cossar was the executive assistant for Nova Scotia's Minister of Natural Resources, as well as the Executive Director of the Dartmouth Boys and Girls Club.
Cossar will begin his new role with Hockey Canada on September 4.
Hockey Nova Scotia would like to congratulate Darren Cossar on his new role and wish him the best of luck with Hockey Canada.
