Region’s four top teams join host Cole Harbour Pro Hockey Life WolfPack at the event
LANTZ, N.S. — The top Major Midget teams from across Atlantic Canada will face off in Lantz this week with a trip to the national championship on the line.
From March 29 to April 1, the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League’s (NSMMHL) Cole Harbour Pro Hockey Life WolfPack will host the best Major Midget teams from Atlantic Canada at the Major Midget Atlantic Hockey Championship. The event is being held at the East Hants Sportsplex in Lantz, N.S.
The WolfPack will be joined at the event by the following teams:
The action gets underway on Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. when the Dartmouth Steele Subaru Major Midgets, champions of the NSMMHL, face off against Hockey PEI representatives, the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild. The hosts begin their tournament on Thursday evening against Kensington. The puck drops at 8 p.m.
All of the games from the tournament will be streamed live by Bell Aliant at http://tv1.ca/z8vpc23. The top teams from the event will face off on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. in the gold medal game. The winner will represent Atlantic Canada at the 2018 TELUS Cup in Sudbury, Ont. next month.
Last year, the Cape Breton West Islanders defeated the Blizzard du Séminaire St François 5-4 in overtime of the TELUS Cup gold medal game. The Islanders were the first team from Atlantic Canada to ever win the national championship.
