NEW DETAILS ON NOVA SCOTIA MINOR MIDGET AAA LEAGUE SPRING CAMPS

Nova Scotia Minor Midget AAA Hockey League aims to offer new development opportunities for 15 and 16-year-old player

 

DARTMOUTH – The hockey year may be over for most players but Midget teams from the province’s newest league are already focussing on next season.

 

Franchises from the new Nova Scotia Minor Midget AAA Hockey League have begun planning spring identification camps that will be held across the province in the coming weeks.

 


The league will officially begin play in September of 2017. Seven league franchises have been awarded for the 2017-18 season. These franchises include four teams from the Halifax Regional Municipality, one from Cape Breton, one from the Annapolis Valley and one from Pictou County.

Admirals Hockey Club

For more information or to register for a spring identification camp, please contact your local team representative as soon as possible.

 

Teams in the new Nova Scotia Minor Midget AAA Hockey League will be made-up of players who meet the following criteria: 

  • Players who are 15 years of age during the playing season
  • Players who are 16 years of age during the playing season but who are born after September 1
  • Players who are 16 years of age during the entire playing season (a limit of four per team)  

As part of the new league’s focus on development, Hockey Nova Scotia will be coordinating fitness testing and off-ice education sessions for all Nova Scotia Minor Midget AAA Hockey League teams throughout the season. 

Hockey Nova Scotia encourages all players who are interested in playing in this new league to contact the team represenative in their area as soon as possible.
