TEAM NOVA SCOTIA BEGINS QMJHL'S GATORADE FROST EXCELLENCE CHALLENGE TODAY IN BOISBRIAND

TEAM NOVA SCOTIA HITS THE ICE AT QMJHL'S GATORADE FROST EXCELLENCE CHALLENGE THIS WEEK

Tournament runs from April 26-30 in Boisbriand, QC

 

BOISBRIAND, QC — Twenty of the top Midget players in Nova Scotia will represent the province this week in Quebec where they will compete against eastern Canada's top hockey prospects.

 

Hockey Nova Scotia's under-16 male team is hitting the ice this week at the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Gatorade Frost Excellence Challenge in Boisbriand, QC. The tournament runs from April 26-30 at the Centre d'Excellence Sports Rousseau.

 

Hockey Nova Scotia’s team is made up of two goaltenders, six defensemen and twelve forwards from across the province. Please find the entire team roster below.

 


Team Nova Scotia is led by head coach Andre Lefebvre (assistant coach, Valley Wildcats, Maritime Hockey League) and assistant Kyle MacLennan (head coach, Weeks Major Midgets, Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League) and Troy Ryan (assistant coach, Canadian national women's team).

The team begins play today when they take on Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador at 2:30 p.m. AST. On Friday, they face Quebec (White) at the 12 p.m. AST and on Saturday, they meet Hockey PEI at 12 p.m. AST, followed by a game with Quebec (Blue) at 6:30 p.m. AST.

The championship game is scheduled for Sunday.

Yesterday, Team Nova Scotia participated in the Gatorade Frost Excellence Challenge combine. Photos of the event can be found below:

 

The Gatorade Frost Excellence Challenge is an annual tournament that features six teams from Quebec (2), New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Nova Scotia. More than one hundred of the top prospects from the region will take part in the event which scouts will use as an evaluation tool ahead of the 2017 QMJHL Entry Draft.

All tournament games will be streamed online by HockeyTV at HockeyTV.com.
