SMU'S LARADE AND LANCELEVE HONOURED AT U SPORTS AWARDS CEREMONY
Mar. 15, 2017

DARTMOUTH - The tournament hasn’t started for them yet but a pair of Nova Scotians already know that they will bringing some U SPORTS women’s hockey hardware home from the national championship in Napanee, Ont.

Saint Mary’s Huskies head coach Chris Larade, a Cheticamp native, was named U SPORTS women’s hockey coach of the year. This is the second consecutive season that Larade, who is in his sixth year with the Huskies program, has won the honour.

This season, Saint Mary's finished first in the regular season standings with an 18-3-3 record. They defeated St. FX 2-1 in the AUS finals.

A big part of the team’s success this year involved Breanna Lanceleve. The Middle Sackville native finished second in AUS scoring with 15 goals and 24 assists in 24 games.

At last night's U SPORTS award ceremony, Lanceleve was named as a Second Team All-Canadian.

Hockey Nova Scotia would like to congratulate Chris and Breanna on their impressive accomplishments and wish them all the best at the U SPORTS national championship this weekend.
