FIRST NOVA SCOTIA PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONS CROWNED OVER THE WEEKEND
Mar. 7, 2016

The Cole Harbour Wings are provincial champions.

On Sunday, the Wings defeated the Pictou County Subway Selects 3-1 at the Hector Arena in Pictou to claim the Female Bantam AA provincial crown.

Jenna Leighton, Ellen Laurence and Ashley Penney scored for Cole Harbour while Mariah Linehan had the lone Pictou County marker.

The host Pictou County Selects went 3-1 during the round-robin with their lone defeat coming against Cole Harbour. The Wings were undefeated during round-robin play, winning three games and tying Halifax 1-1.

The provincial victory earns Cole Harbour the opportunity to represent Nova Scotia at the Female Bantam Atlantics in Liverpool next month. The Western Riptide host the Atlantic championship.

There are five more provincial tournaments remaining on the Hockey Nova Scotia schedule this season. Please find the complete list posted below.

Several provincial champions will also be crowned at 2016 RBC Day of Champions. That event runs from April 8-10 at the Pictou County Wellness Centre in New Glasgow. Further details on the event will be released later this week.
