Want to try sledge hockey? Well, if you live in the Truro area, we have the perfect program for you!

A Learn to Sledge Program has started at the Colchester Legion Stadium and it aims to introduce beginners to the game.

The program is a collaborative project between the Town of Truro, the Municipality of Colchester and Sport Nova Scotia with the goal of getting new players acquainted with the fundamentals of the game.

The program (which began on Sunday and runs until April) is open to both able-bodied and disabled players ages 5-18.

The weekly sessions take place on Sunday, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Colchester Legion Stadium. Players only require warm clothing, boots and a helmet with a facemask.

The cost is $28 for the remaining 7 weeks (or $4 per drop-in session) and no registration is required. Players are simply asked to show up at 9 a.m. on Sunday at the Colchester Legion Stadium.

The remaining sessions take place on February 14, 21, 28, March 6, 13, and April 3 and 10.
