DARTMOUTH, N.S. – After defeating the best teams from their provinces, four Major Bantam provincial championship teams will join the host Dartmouth Whalers at the 2015 Irving Oil Challenge Cup in Dartmouth, N.S. this weekend.

The Irving Oil Challenge Cup gets underway on Thursday, April 9 and will run until Sunday, April 12. All games will be played at the Dartmouth Sportsplex.

Joining the host Dartmouth Whalers at the event are their provincial rivals The Novas, the Nova Scotia Major Bantam Hockey League champions. The St. John’s Ice Breakers (Hockey Newfoundland), Prince County Warriors (Hockey PEI) and the Moncton Hawks (Hockey New Brunswick) will also hit the ice in Dartmouth to compete for regional bragging rights.

The action gets underway on Thursday, April 9 at 2 p.m. when the St. John’s Ice Breakers face The Novas at the Sportsplex.

The championship game is scheduled for 12 p.m. on Sunday.

An awards banquet will take place at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday evening. Former Montreal Canadiens netminder Ken Dryden is the event’s guest speaker. Tickets can be purchased here.
