The puck is set to drop on the RBC Hockey Nova Scotia Day of Champions next week!

The RBC Hockey Nova Scotia Day of Champions gets underway at the BMO Centre (61 Gary Martin Drive) in Bedford on Saturday, March 28. The Day of Champions continues on March 29 when the best female teams from across the province hit the ice.

For a complete RBC Hockey Nova Scotia Day of Champions schedule, please click here.

The new Day of Champions format will see the top team from the North Conference face-off against the best team from the South Conference in a championship game to determine a provincial winner. The new format replaces several provincial tournaments in an attempt to make the end-of-season championship season more affordable for families.

The weekend will feature plenty of add-ons and surprises for our teams that will be hitting the ice in Bedford. As well, every game will be streamed online by Bell Aliant Community One for families and fans who can’t make it to the games. To watch those games, please click here.

All games will include three 15-minute stop-time periods. The ice will be resurfaced between the second and third periods. In the event of a tie, there will be a five-minute 4-on-4 overtime period followed by a three round shootout. If a winner is not determined after three rounds, "sudden-death" shots will be taken to reach a decision. A player is not allowed to shoot for a second time until a total of eleven players on his or her team have shot.
