HIGH PERFORMANCE 1 PROGRAM TO BE OFFERED TO COACHES IN JULY
Jan. 28, 2015

Hockey Canada and the Coaches Association of Canada have recently mandated that all head coaches must have or are in the process of completing the High Performance 1 Program.

All head coaches that are coaching the following levels are required to have this certification:

  • Major Bantam (Male)
  • Midget Major (Male/Female)
  • Junior A

The levels that are mandated by the Coaching Association of Canada and Hockey Canada involve teams that compete in interprovincial or national championships and/or are the highest level as determined by the Branch. Coaches must be HP1-certified for the 2015-16 season with exception of Junior A (where coaches must be certified in effect for the 2016-17 season). It is recommended that all assistant coaches coaching competitive levels in Peewee or above hold a D1 (Development 1) trained course in effect for the 2015/16 season.

All head coaches that coach in Branch Male/Female High Performance Programs must be HP1 certified. It is recommended that all assistant coaches are HP1 or D1 certified.

Hockey Nova Scotia will be hosting the High Performance 1 Program from July 20th-25th 2015 in Antigonish
