NS TEAMS REPRESENT PROVINCE PROUDLY AT ATLANTIC TOURNAMENTS
Mar. 30, 2014

It was a very successful weekend for some Nova Scotia teams representing our province on the ice in regional competitions across Atlantic Canada.

Atlantic Bantam Female Invitational Tournament

In Montague, PEI on Sunday, the TASA-Bedford Ducks (pictured on front page following NS Female Bantam AA provincial victory) defeated Newfoundland’s Eastern Ice Breakers 3-2 in the gold medal to claim the championship at the Atlantic Bantam Female Invitational Tournament.

TASA-Bedford topped Halifax 2-0 at Female Bantam AA provincials earlier this month to finish the season as the top team in Nova Scotia.

Maritime-Hockey North Jr. C Championship

It was also a golden weekend for the Spryfield Attack of the Nova Scotia Jr. C Hockey League. Spryfield captured the Maritime-Hockey North Jr. C Championship title with a 3-1 victory over the Hampton Hurricanes of New Brunswick.

The Spryfield Attack beat the Fundy MU Rhino Renovations four games to one in the NS Jr. C Hockey League final to earn a berth in the Maritime-Hockey North Jr. C Championship tournament.

Congratulations also go out to the South Shore Wild who played well and hosted a fantastic event in Liverpool.

Minor Midget Atlantics

The Bedford Blues were victorious in the third-place game at the Minor Midget Atlantics in Alberton, PEI over the weekend. The Blues defeated  Newfoundland’s St. John’s Marshalls 6-1 on Sunday to bring home the bronze.

The Blues finished the tournament with 1-2-2 record.

Peewee AAA Atlantics

The Antigonish Bulldogs posted a strong 2-2 record in the round robin of the Peewee AAA Atlantics at the Grant Harvey Centre in Fredericton. Unfortunately, the Bulldogs fell 3-2 to New Brunswick’s EDZA East in the bronze medal game.
