NS REPRESENTATIVES PREPARE TO HIT THE ICE AT REGIONAL TOURNAMENTS

After a hard-fought season of hockey, six Nova Scotia provincial champion teams are set to represent our province at Atlantic tournaments in the coming weeks.

Three of those provincial champion teams are hitting the ice this weekend.


Minor Midget Atlantics: Bedford Blues

At the Minor Midget Atlantics in Alberton, PEI, Nova Scotia will be represented by the Bedford Blues who earned their tickets to the event with a 7-1 victory over Antigonish at provincials in Truro earlier this month

Atlantic Bantam Female Invitational Tournament: TASA-Bedford

Also on the ice in PEI this week is the team from TASA-Bedford who are provincial champions following 2-0 win over Halifax in the Bantam AA championship game in Pictou on March 8th. The team will be participating in the Atlantic Bantam Female Invitational Tournament in Montague this weekend.

Peewee AAA Atlantics: Antigonish Bulldogs

The Antigonish Bulldogs will be the province’s representatives at the Peewee AAA Atlantics in Fredericton from March 27th-30th. Antigonish topped Truro 6-3 in the championship game at the Shannon Arena in Dartmouth two weeks ago.

Maritime-Hockey North Jr. C Championship: Spryfield Silver and Black Attack

The Spryfield Silver and Black Attack who defeated Fundy 4-1 in the NS Jr. C Hockey League best-of-seven series final will represent Nova Scotia at the Maritime-Hockey North Jr. C Championship in Liverpool this week. They will join the host South Shore Wild as the two teams from this province competing in the tournament.

23rd Annual Irving Oil Challenge Cup: Bubba Ray's Gulls

Next month, the Bubba Ray’s Gulls will represent the Nova Scotia Major Bantam Hockey League at the 23rd Annual Irving Oil Challenge Cup. That tournament runs from April 3rd-6th.

Atlantic Major Midget Hockey Championship: Halifax McDonald's

That same weekend, the Halifax McDonald's will take to the ice at the Atlantic Major Midget Hockey Championship in New Glasgow. The Macs defeated the Newbridge Gladiators 4-1 in the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League series final to earn a berth in the tournament.

Female Midget Atlantic Hockey Championship: Pro Cresting Penguins

The Pro Cresting Penguins are Nova Scotia Female Midget Hockey League champs following a 3-1 series victory over Metro Boston Pizza in the league final. The East Hants team is now Newfoundland-bound for the Female Midget Atlantic Championship next week.
