HOCKEY NOVA SCOTIA CELEBRATES COACHES DAY SATURDAY, JAN. 25
Jan. 24, 2014
DARTMOUTH — Minor hockey players from across the province will be showing their appreciation on Saturday, January 25 as Hockey Nova Scotia celebrates Coaches Day.
This is the seventh year in a row Coaches Day will be recognized by minor hockey associations in Nova Scotia. It is an opportunity for those associations, as well as teams and players, to show their gratitude for the hard work our volunteer coaches dedicate to the game.
“Coaches Day is all about thanking the men and women who put countless hours in to making sure our players get all the benefits hockey has to offer while also helping to grow our game,” says Hockey Nova Scotia President Randy Pulsifer.
“On behalf of Hockey Nova Scotia, I would like to acknowledge and thank all our coaches for everything they do,” Pulsifer says.
There are more than 4700 volunteer coaches who assist with the development and improvement of over 18000 Nova Scotia hockey players.
Hockey Nova Scotia will be holding a special Coaches Day Seminar at the Metro Centre. Presentations will be provided by former Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL) head coach Shawn MacKenzie, current Mooseheads assistant coach Jim Midgley and Sochi-bound Canada National Sledge Team video coach and Cape Breton Screaming Eagles (QMJHL) goaltending coach Scott Gouthro. For a complete schedule, see below.
