TEAM ATLANTIC LOSES TOUGH OPENING GAME AT NATIONAL WOMEN'S U-18 CHAMPIONSHIP

CALGARY, Alta. – Team Atlantic's Female Under-18 squad lost a hard fought battle to Team Ontario Blue in their opening game of the National Women's Under-18 Championship in Calgary this evening.
Ontario opened the scoring just five minutes in to the first period when Lindsay Agnew beat goaltender Carly Jackson to put her team up 1-0.
Catherine Tufts and Noemie Chiasson responded for Team Atlantic as Atlantic finished the first period with a 2-1 advantage.
Kennedy Marchment scored for Ontario midway through the second period to knot things up at 2-2.
Natalie Keeping put Team Atlantic ahead 3-2 just nineteen seconds in to the third frame after ripping a shot from the point on a pass from Marilyn Fortin. Shelby Perry answered back for Ontario Blue six and a half minutes later.
Lindsay Agnew's second goal of the game with just fifty-two seconds to go in the third sealed the 4-3 win for Ontario.
Carly Jackson, who stopped 21 of the 25 shots fired her way, was named player of the game for Team Atlantic.
Ontario Blue outshot Team Atlantic 25-22.
Team Atlantic is back in action tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM MST when they take on Team Quebec.
