We don't stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing

"Everyone is a Winner!"

For without everyone's participation here in the 2011 Nova Scotia 55+ Games, there never would have been enough players to form teams.

The 2011 Nova Scotia 55+ Games was held September 22-23rd, in the Annapolis Valley.

Everyone who participated in this event made history because the games included the first-ever group of 50+ women hockey players who played in the first-ever 50+ women's hockey tournament in Nova Scotia!

The group was told that Nova Scotia is the first province to launch 50+ Women's Hockey as a competition in the senior provincial games across Canada.

They feel they have gained momentum and are not satisfied stopping where they have landed.

Debbie Macdonald Gray, a major contributor and driving force behind the event says that she has already been asked to consider being a Director on the Board of the Nova Scotia 55+ Games, but her focus is to do whatever it takes to further the stability of senior women's hockey as an annual competition included in the furture of the Nova Scotia 55+ Games and eventually bring it into the national Canada 55+ Games.
