HNS elects new president Jun. 12, 2011 Hockey Nova Scotia sees changes to the Board of Directors Randy Pulsifer was elected as the as the eighth president of Hockey Nova Scotia during the Hockey Nova Scotia Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Halifax on May 14, 2011. Mr. Pulsifer officially took over as president on June 1st, 2011. Mr. Pulsifer has spent the last eight years on the HNS Board as Referee-in-chief, advancing the officiating program significantly through training, supervision and accountability. Outgoing president Don Matheson leaves HNS in a good place with excellent growth and stability. His efforts including moving HNS into a new state of the art facility, development and implementation of a strategic plan, bringing HNS Minor Council under the Branch and ensuring financial stability will have a lasting legacy. Mr. Matheson will continue to work with HNS in his new role as Past President and Chair of Risk Management. Hockey Nova Scotia has also elected a new Vice President of Operations, Garth Isenor. Mr. Isenor was also elected at the May 14, 2011 AGM for a two year term. Mr. Isenor brings a wealth of experience to his new role as he moves up from the position of Chair of HNS Minor Council. Stepping in to take over the position as Chair of Minor Council is Arnie Farrell. Mr. Farrell has served as a Conference Coordinator of Minor Council and will be an excellent addition to the HNS Board. Hockey Nova Scotia also has a new Chair of Female Council, Stephen Murray. Mr. Murray takes over from Joanne Hughes who has moved on to work with Hockey Canada’s Female Council. This appointment is for a one year term and moves Mr. Murray from his role as Regional Director Female Council to lead the council as we move to grow the female game.
